What is Teppanyaki?

The word "teppanyaki" translates to "grilled on an iron plate" in Japanese, where "teppan" refers to the iron plate or griddle, and "yaki" means grilled or cooked.
In a teppanyaki restaurant, skilled chefs prepare the food right in front of the diners on the hot griddle. The chefs showcase their culinary techniques by chopping, flipping, and cooking the ingredients with flair, often including entertaining tricks and interactions with the customers.
